Supervision is offered for trainee / qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. I have 22 years experience as a clinical supervisor and this is supported through my own supervision.

 

I offer supervision in child, adolescent and adult work. Also for those working in demanding organisational roles.

I am on the UKCP Register of Supervisors. Accreditation (Since 2014)

Usually meeting for fortnightly sessions my approach is with the relational/process models of supervision and my specialist skills are in psycho-analytic or psycho-dynamically informed work. My own training is also within the person centred approach and I am conversant with other modalities. I am also developing short term models of working based on Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT).

My philosophy is to try to ensure that supervision is enlightening and providing flexibility to the supervisee's developing style of work and interests. I have mentored supervisees through the process of BACP accreditation; my personal style is friendly, constructive and informative. Maintaining my own sensitivity and a high level of continuing professional development in my personal clinical practice feeds into providing creative supervision.

I am currently a registered supervisor for the University Salford; also for integrative psychotherapy training at the Metanoia Institute, London, and for United Churches Healing Ministry (Tree of Life)

Until recently I was the co-ordinator of the Yorkshire Supervisors' Forum which serves to promote good supervisory practice through workshops, conferences etc. www.ysf.org.uk
